Pool is a Mixed Media piece installed in the Concourse Gallery at VisArts, Rockville, MD in late summer, 2024. The life sized figures - all friends and relatives of the artist- are hand painted in Acryla Gouache on paper, with the more realistic elements painted in oil on DuraLar, and stitched into place with embroidery thread. Oscillating fans animate over 35 feet of hand dyed silk; transforming the space into a lively afternoon swim with viewers placed in the thick of the action.
